I'm so excited to share the announcement, and background of the work currently being written by Brad Balliett. This work, along with 4 others, will be premiered and recorded this fall on my recording & recital "Room to Breathe". Here is some information on the piece from Brad:
Lancaster, Massachusetts, 6:50 AM: surrounded on both sides by forested low-rising hills, a long and narrow stretch of scrubby grasslands is bisected by a straight and dusty walking path. Miniature mesas of dirt dot the horizon where the path meanders off into further forest. In the hazy air hangs songs of Indigo Buntings, Prairie Warblers, Field Sparrows, Grasshopper Sparrows, and Towhees. And in the hills, at the edge of audibility - a single Hermit Thrush!
